Dr. Chiu is Distinguished Investigator of the National Health Research Institutes in Taiwan, and was the Director General of Department of Life Sciences in National Science Council/Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and the Deputy Minister of the MOST. He received many prestigious awards, including Outstanding Research Award of the MOST (three times) and Distinguished Alumnus Award from Chung Yuan Christian University. Dr. Chiu has published more than 80 full-length papers in first-rate peer-reviewed journals and delivered more than 200 speeches in international conferences. He is an outstanding, international-renowned scientist specialized in interdisciplinary fields of bioengineering and clinical medicine.
