Professor Ching-Ray Chang currently holds the positions of Executive Vice President – Administrative Affairs, and Interim President at National Taiwan University (NTU). He received a PhD in Physics from the University of California San Diego in 1988, and has been at NTU since 1989. Prof. Chang has been awarded both APS and IEEE Fellowships for significant scientific contributions, which has decisive impact on the understanding of nucleation, spin dynamics and thermal activation of magnetic materials. He is currently working on spin transport in low dimensional materials. Prof. Chang has served as the director of the Center for Theoretical Physics at NTU, the president of the Asia Union of Magnetic Societies (AUMS), the president of the Physical Society of Taiwan, and as the president of the Taiwan Associations of Magnetic Technologies. He has written approximately 250 papers and holds more than 20 magnetism-related patents.
